The mission of the Port of Kingston is to enhance the economic and social well-being of the Port District Residents by support of the economy, and by providing a waterfront facility for recreation and leisure activities. The geographic location of the port provides convenient access to prime, commercial, tribal and recreational fishing and crabbing grounds. The Port of Kingston is a favorite stopping off point for boaters traveling from the southern areas of Puget Sound heading to the Strait of Juan De Fuca, the San Juan Islands, the Canadian Gulf Islands, and even Alaska. Proximity to the Olympic Peninsula offers opportunities for campers, hikers and bikers as well. Washington State Ferries operate the western terminal of the Edmonds-Kingston run at the Port of Kingston. Over 4 million passengers a year use this route for commuting, business and recreation.
