About Our Organization

We are veterans & care about America, our fellow veterans, our families & our children.  Post Legionnaires and American Legion Yacht Club members continue to serve our God, our Country & our Community.  Our Legionnaires participate in many community activities such as parades, memorials, dedications, etc.  We have a funeral honor guard detail ready, willing & able at the family's request.  The American Legion Yacht Club hosts racing on Monday night during the summer and four open water regattas during the year.  The ALYC also coordinates the annual 4th of July Old Glory Boat Parade and Sailing for the Blind and Visually Impaired event.

Business Details

American Legion Newport Harbor Post 291 has approximately 70' of guest dock space, limited to vessels of no more than 8' in draft & 14' of beam. The 1st boat entering should go in as far forward as possible, leaving the remaining dock space available for another vessel. If the 2nd vessel is relatively large, it should enter stern first. Upon arrival, immediately after securing the vessel, both for temporary daytime visits & overnight reservations, the skipper must proceed to the Post 291 office (or to the bartender if the office is closed) to identify himself & the vessel & its length, show proof of insurance & a current yacht club card.
