Business Details

The Anchorage, Inc. has been building fine boats since 1930, when Bill Dyer founded the company. One of the first boats to be built as the 10' Dyer Dink, a wooden lapstrake dinghy. It was followed, in the early 1940's, by a plywood version of the 9' Dyer Dhow. The first fiberglass version of the Dhow was built in 1949, making it the oldest, continuously-built fiberglass boat. The 9' Dhow was followed by the 7'11" Dyer Dhow Midget & the 12 1/2' Dyer Dhow. The company also builds the 16' Dyer Glamour Girl, the Dyer 29 & Dyer 40 classic motorboats.
