About Voyage Charters

VOYAGE charters is a luxury, boutique style family operated charter company in the British Virgin Islands.

Robin and Jo-Ann Downing, the owners of VOYAGE charters, first arrived in Tortola in 1995 and instantly fell in love with the delightful, quaint West End location on Frenchman’s Cay called Soper’s Hole, where they made their home.

Robin’s passion for boats began as a teenager whilst accompanying his grandfather on numerous fishing expeditions off the coast of Durban, South Africa. During these trips he developed a love for the water, and a fervent interest in naval design. At the age of 25 he built his first boat, a 37 foot “Endurance”, and soon after began custom building larger racing monohulls. This brought national recognition in 1992, when Robin received the Centenary Boat Show Award for "Best Boat of The Year."
